SwimSafer Singapore: Independent Preparation Guide
SwimSafer 2.0 is Singapore’s national swimming and water-safety programme. It progresses through six stages: Stage 1, Stage 2, Stage 3, Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each stage combines swimming development with water-safety and survival learning.
How private preparation helps
Private lessons can assess a learner’s current ability, target specific skill gaps and provide extra practice before formal assessment. Preparation does not guarantee a pass; assessment outcomes depend on the learner meeting the current official requirements.
The six-stage pathway
- Stage 1: water confidence, independence and safe movement.
- Stage 2: fundamental water skills and continuous swimming.
- Stage 3: personal survival and stroke development.
- Bronze: survival skills and stroke improvement.
- Silver: greater endurance and survival competency.
- Gold: advanced swimming, survival and rescue-related competency.
